Work along side Broadway’s top artists and your peers from around the world in an exhilarating and enriching professional development experience that goes behind the scenes on Broadway, explores the craft of theatre as it pertains to your school and community productions, and provides useful information to bring back to your students.

2013 Broadway Guest Artists and Workshops will include...
Matthew Warchus (Director of MATILDA), Andrea Martin (star of PIPPIN), Ken Ludwig (author, CRAZY FOR YOU, LEND ME A TENOR), Laura Osnes (star of CINDERELLA), Chet Walker (choreographer of PIPPIN), Josh Rhodes (choreographer, CINDERELLA), Lauren Ward (star of MATILDA), Mary Rodgers Guettel talking about her father (Richard Rodgers) and his work - as well as her own shows, CINDERELLA and her shows WORKING, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS and FREAKY FRIDAY, Cast and Creative team members of PIPPIN, David Loud (Music Director, SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, CURTAINS, FIRST YOU DREAM), Steven Malone (Music Director, NEWSIES), John Cariani (Tony Nominated Actor & Writer of ALMOST, MAINE) and more to be announced. New workshops include three levels of DIRECTING:Scene Study, Staging, and Design, MUSICAL THEATRE INTERP, AUDITIONING YOUNG ACTORS: the casting process, SOUND ADVICE: body mics 101, SHAKESPEARE, CIRCUS TECHNIQUES (with PIPPIN team members), IMPROV COMEDY, SPECIAL EFFECTS CREATION, SCENIC DESIGN: Soft goods, VOCAL PRODUCTION, THEATRE GAME JAM, and favorites including CHOREOGRAPHY FOR EVERYONE, PLAYWRITING, MAKE UP, STAGE COMBAT, PROJECTION DESIGN, STAGE MANAGEMENT/SCHEDULING. *Please note: all workshops and guest artists are subject to change. WHAT:
3-day intensive workshop on Broadway that includes your ticket to 4 shows with post show cast discussions; 8 workshops and master classes with Broadway performers, creative teams, and production staff; and peer sessions throughout. The Broadway Teachers Workshop is designed to inspire teachers and directors of middle school, high school and college theatre and arts with new teaching methods, enhanced production skills and an exchange of ideas with peers and professional Broadway artists.

MATILDA, the smash hit Olivier Award winner for Best Musical, coming to the U.S. from London this spring, the brand new revival of PIPPIN, directed by Diane Paulus, CINDERELLA, Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical, reimagined and completely rewritten by Douglas Carter Beane (Xanadu, The Little Dog Laughed), and Disney's NEWSIES, the Broadway dance sensation!

WHERE:
All Sessions are held at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (home to Spiderman:Turn Off The Dark.) Enter through the Stage Door at 214 West 43rd Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenues.
HOW MUCH:
Tuition is $649 before April 1 and $699 thereafter. (*please note: tuition includes your ticket to four shows, all workshops and master classes, talk backs and final night party but it does not include transportation or housing.)
HOW TO REGISTER:

GRADUATE CREDIT/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CREDITS:
Participants in the Broadway Teachers Workshop may elect to earn 3 graduate credits through the UNLV Theatre department. Find out more.
