Malik Shabazz Kitchen

Malik is a multi-hyphenate performer currently based in New York City. A seasoned Dancer, Actor, Singer, and Teacher- Malik has credits ranging from stage, to television, to film. Malik started his career as an original & principal cast member of the MTV series ‘Taking The Stage’. Since his television debut, Malik has continued to work in the entertainment industry with a career spanning over a decade. Other TV credits include HBO’s ‘Last Week Tonight’, ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ and his film debut in Netflix’s ‘Passing’. Some of Malik’s other notable credits include Working at New York City Center Encores, Company XIV’s Nutcracker Rouge, the NBC Upfronts 2016, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Elisa Monte Dance and various TV commercials. Malik was also featured in the Off-Broadway musical The Wrong Man written by Ross Golan, choreographed by Travis Wall and directed by Thomas Kail from which Malik won a Chita Rivera Award for excellence in dance. After making his tour debut in Chicago with the smash mega hit Hamilton from 2016-2019, Malik made his debut in Hamilton on Broadway in 2021 and made his principal debut on Broadway in 2022. Malik has been teaching professionally since 2010 and strives to share all of the tools and skills he’s learned over the years with his students. Malik puts an emphasis on performance quality, dynamic, technique, and acting for dancers in all of his lessons. Malik is represented by MSA Agency in New York City.
